Liana de Camargo Leão received her PhD in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 2000. Leão is a Full Professor of Literatures in English at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), where she has taught since 1996. She completed post-doctoral studies at the Federal University of Minas Gerais.
She edited and organized, with Dr. Marlene Soares dos Santos, the volume Shakespeare, sua época e sua obra (Shakespeare, his time and his works, 2008).
She has also published several literature books for children, some of which have been translated into Spanish. Among her most recent work is an adaptation of The tempest for children to perform at school.
